29th January 2005
It was a Saturday morning, 29th January 2005. The doctor had asked us to come back for a second scan since the 1st was not that clear. The doctor still could not determine the period of the pregnancy because the womb was hard to find. The baby heartbeat was also not clear, so mummy was referred to the General Hospital for another scan. The appointment is on Monday 31st January 2005 at 9am.
31st January 2005
It was a Monday morning, 31st January 2005. Mummy and daddy went to Singapore General Hospital early in the morning. Daddy took leave for that day just to accompany mummy, but mummy can only take time off. Well, the scan went very well. The baby heart beat is normal. Everything is fine. Mummy could see the baby tiny hands and legs. The heartbeat is pumping super-fast, but that’s considered normal. Then we went back to Dr. Yap and she read the report. She said that the baby is 9 to 10 weeks old, but can’t be. Then she read further on. Okie. Mummy’s 8.3 weeks pregnant and the baby’s 19mm long. Just as long as an adult’s thumb nail.
26th February 2005
26th February 2005 was a Saturday. Mummy and daddy went to the clinic (Yang & Yap) in the morning. Mummy had another scan to check whether the baby is healthy and normal. Anyway the doctor checked mummy blood pressure, urine and weight. Mummy weighs 94kg (heavy, huh). Anyway the doctor also wants to do a blood test (for HIV and some other related blood thingy). The doctor couldn’t find a vein to take the blood (heheeheee!) Mummy’s arms are well-cushioned, so had to take from mummy’s hand. Mummy’s given a vitamin called ‘obimin’ and will have to see the doctor again in one month time.
26th March 2005
26th March 2005 was another Saturday. Mummy and daddy went to the clinic (Yang & Yap) in the morning around 10am. We had to wait for about 1 ½hr to see the doctor. Mummy had another scan to check the growth of our little one. Anyway the doctor checked mummy blood pressure, urine and weight again. Mummy gains another 2kg, now weighing at 96kg. Mommy blood test was back and everything is fine. Next month, Dr Yap is going to refer us to the specialist at KKH. So, mummy and daddy are looking out for a good specialist. Still do not know the gender for our baby.
